How long will it take for me to receive my books after ordering?

Money orders or credit card numbers take two business days (Monday through Friday excluding federal holidays) to process before books are mailed. Orders placed on this website using your credit card will be processed in two business days or less. Orders containing a check take 13 business days to process. Check customers will usually receive their books by the time they receive their check back from the bank, but in California, their canceled check may sometimes reach them first. If you have received your canceled check back from your bank, turn it over and count 13 business days from the day of deposit you see stamped on the back of the check. That is when your book is scheduled to be mailed out. By law, your books can be mailed out up to 30 days beyond this date, but we do it in 13 business days. This 13 day period is unfortunately how long we must wait to be certain all checks (from ALL states) deposited on a particular day have cleared.

What is the fastest way for me to receive an order?

If you are ordering on this website or by phone using a credit card, ask for your order to be shipped via Express Mail. Your order will be filled within two business days and will then be shipped to you overnight (although some remote areas take two days by Express Mail). If you don't have a credit card, you may wish to purchase one of the new "reloadable" credit cards that major credit card companies now sell in many grocery stores and pharmacies without application or credit hassles. You can use them anywhere a regular credit card is accepted, including on our site. But if you are in a hurry and cannot order using a credit card, then your fastest option is to Express Mail us your order containing a MONEY ORDER (not a check!), and include shipping for Express Mail back to you.

I can probably find the information in these books for free, if I look hard enough, so why should I buy these books?

Most information is free, if you are willing to invest the time to search for it, but searching for certain kinds of grants (grants from foundations and nonprofit organizations, in particular) can be extremely time consuming. We have done the research for you, and compiled the information for your convenience. Also keep in mind that most of our books go beyond simply supplying you with basic research information. They guide you toward using the information in ways that help you achieve the greatest possible benefit from it.

We do provide a guide to applying for grants, which you can obtain free with the coupon enclosed in your new book. Unfortunately, however, we cannot offer guidance to individuals as we are not actual representatives of any particular government agency or foundation.

Why don't you offer your books as CD's?
|

Because no matter what anyone tells you, not all CD's work in all computers - even computers that they're compatible with. We've acquired many customers who've gone the CD route before finding us, and we've heard far too often that even when they work, they can be very difficult to navigate, even with sophisticated search engines built into them. Most discs you see advertised about government grants are actually just repackaged government documentation, and they don't cover foundation or non-profit grants. While they may be advertised as great sources of government grants, they actually contain some of the longest grant descriptions ever written. The information you want is buried deep in thousands of pages of information you don't need, which can include just about "everything but the kitchen sink" - even old satellite photos!

How can I order these books without a credit card?

You can simply purchase them in the store without any application or credit hassles, then use them to shop online.

What if I don't like my books?

Your satisfaction is our greatest concern. So if you are not completely happy with books you have purchased from us, simply return them within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price.
There are no surprises with this guarantee. We know of other companies who, despite having a similarly stated guarantee, reveal when you open your package that to return the items, there are actually additional requirements, such as needing to include rejection letters from government agencies. We have no such requirements.
To return your books, they should be postmarked within 30 days of the date they were postmarked to you, and you should be sure to include your name, address and order number with your return. If you ordered using a credit card, and want the book credited back to your card, please include that information, too.
Credit card returns are processed the day we receive them. Checks and money orders are refunded and put in the mail within three business days of when we receive them.
